Carolyn Cuttino, RN, BS, CWOCN,
is a board-certified ET nurse at the Medical University of South Carolina. She has served as a consultant in wound care for acute care facilities, long-term care facilities, and industry. Ms. Cuttino has chaired The Buck Stops Here and other HMP Communications regional meetings for the past 10 years and has educated thousands of clinicians while receiving consistently excellent evaluations.
Kathleen D. Schaum, MS, is the president of her own consulting company, Kathleen D. Schaum & Associates, Inc. She has spent the past 7 years consulting,with manufacturers and providers.
Kathleen has guided the reimbursement strategies for more than 20 manufacturers, received Medicare billing codes for more than 100 wound care products, applied and received 6 brand new HCPCS codes and payment rates for all forms of collagen dressings, and applied and received a brand new dermal substitute tissue HCPCS code and payment rate. Kathleen consults with numerous new and established hospital outpatient wound care departments, physicians, podiatrists, nurse practitioners, wound care nurses, and physical therapists regarding the business side of wound management. Kathleen is also Healthpoint’s reimbursement director for devices, facilities, and procedures. In both capacities, Kathleen brings nearly 40 years of knowledge and experience. Kathleen continually monitors reimbursement legislation and regulations and attends many reimbursement meetings and seminars in order to maintain her own knowledge regarding this ever-changing topic, and then she willingly shares that knowledge with the wound care industry.
